S. C. PRESBYTERIAL (Contributed) The twenty-first Annual Meeti of the S. C. Presbyterial was held Greenwood Presbyterian Chur Tuesday and Wednesday April 6 and 7th. This Presbyterial includes t Women's Societies of Newberi Laurens, Abbeville and Greenwo counties. The meeting was called to ord Tuesday at 4:00 p. m. by the Pre dent, Miss Annie Blake. The effice -r^ci-etary, Miss Louise C. Flemin was in her place. A most cordial Wi come was givtn the ..iembers of t Presbyterial by the ladies of t church, after which the work w proceeded with. The reports of t various societies showed a marked i crease in gifts interest and spiritua ty. About fifty officers, represent tives and visitors were present. Mrs. Rowland, President of Gee gia Synodical was present for a she time, and was asked by Miss Blake say a few words. Mrs. Rowlai spoke of the needs of Nacoochee I stitute in Georgia. The Foreign Missionary speaker the afternoon was Rev. Preston, M sionary to Korea. Mr. Preston is ? South Carolinan, but luu> been Korea for seventeen years. He is very attractive speaker and held t attention of his hearers while he to of the lights and shadows of t' political and religious conditions that far off land. ' The sessor Wednesday at 10:00 m. was opened with a song servi followed by prayer, Miss Adams Thornwell Orphana.^o spoke at leng on the work of the Orphanage and i present great needs. Miss Berry, of Atlanta, secreta for Dr. Morris of Assembly's Hor Missions, spoke of the present com tion of our country, and its gre needs. This talk was very instruct! and was well received. Next was a spiritual Quiet-Hoi after which we repaired to the di ing room where we partook of most bountiful luncheon served 1 the ladies of the church. A ve pleasant social hour was spent. The meeting was continued at 2: p. m. During this session Mrs. T. Hodges built a "Missionary Temple This wtas very instructive as Mi Hodges explained very clearly ea stick or cause of the church as s went along. We were all delight with the Temple plan. Mrs. Bramlett, our Synodic President, was present and gave j address en the Interchurch Wor "** A -li ?L- i j tr movement. ah tnuse wno nearu iui Bramlett gained a new vision of tl church's world wide opportuniti and responsbilities n our day. Miss Blake resigned her office President of the S. C. Presbyteri after seven years of faithful servic during which time most wonderf progress had been made in all tl socities under her care. Miss Blake has been a most fait ful, a capable and efficient Presider and is loved by every member of tl Presbyteral, and it is with deep r gret that we give her up. Mrs. J. ' Hllhouse of Abbeville, is our ne President, and we pray that si will be blessed in her work. Mi Blake spoke words of love and e couragement to the new officers. The most pleasing feature of tl meeting was the presentation of gold watch to Miss Blake, as a smj token of love and appreciation, fro the members of the Presbyterii mrs. i. u. tiodges, in an unique ai pleasing manner, made the present tion and spoke beautifully of Mi Blake's faithfulness all through t! years of our.love for her, and o sorrow at having to give her up. Mi Blake very feelingly replied ai thanked the members fov their kin ness to her.
