Miss Bettie Morrah, of Bellevue, is a pretty visitor in the city, being the guest of Miss Edna Bradley. Miss Mary Celeste Parler of Wedgefield, is here on a visit to her aunt, Mrs. Frank Benton. Henry Cason was down from Anderson spending Sunday with his home folks. Mrs. Lemmon, of Lowndesville, is the attractive guest of Mrs. C. E. Williamson for a few days. Ralph Welborn, of Anderson, spent the week-end with his sisters, Misses Mae and Annie Welborn. Misses Daisy Maxwell, Lila and Marie McCaslan spent Sunday with Mrs. W. L. Dawson, near the city. Mrs. W. T. McGowan. of Timmons Iville, is visting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hill. Sidney Kay, of Atlanta, is in the city on business and visiting his brother, R. Glenn Kay. Robert L. Cheatham arrived in the city Sunday having received his discharge from Camp Jackson. Sergt. Major Thompson Penney is expected to reach Abbeville the latter part of this week. Mr. T. P. Thompson has returned from Lexington, Va., where he attended the V. M. I. finals. W. W. Black and his son, Marshall Douglass Black, of Mt. Carmel, were visitors in Abbeville Saturday. Miss Mary Bowie left Monday to attend the National Home Economics Conference at Blue Ridge N. C. Mr; Sol H. Rosenberg is expected to arrive this week from New York, where he has been doing his fall buying. Sergt. Arthur Rosenberg has landed in Newport News and is expected to reach Abbeville in the near fu lure. Mrs. Jennie B. Hill, who has been here on a visit to relatives, left Sunday for a short visit to Hamlet, N. C., before returning to her home in Birmingham, Ala. Entertaining the Bridal Party. Miss Margie Bradley was hostees at an after-the-rehearsal party Monday night, entertaining the guests who are here for the Klugh-Garner wedding. The entertainment consisted of merry contests, bright and attractive ! toasts to the bride and groom and the enjoyment of an attractive salad course at the close of the evening. The place I cards were daisies and the cream and i cake served carried the scheme of : yellow and white through. I There were seven tables of players, progressive Rook being the game played. i Miss Kate Marshall served a coolI ing punch on the porch throughout the afternoon. The party was per; feet in detail and was greatly enjoyed by the young ladies present.
