I Adger Timms is another young man from Antreville who is going, to do his part in helping to win the war. Misses Lorena and Alma Cartee of near Antreville, spent Saturday here doing some of their Spring shopping. Billy Bradley came up from Columbia and spent Easter with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Bradley. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Galloway of Due West, were in the city Thursday for a few hours. They were on their way to Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cheatham and Miss Narietta Cheatham spent Sunday here with Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Cheatham. Mrs. Gibbes Baker of Washington D. C., who is visiting relatives in Lowndesville, spent a day here last week shopping. Private Francis L. Mabry and his friend, Sergt. They are going to help win the war by having a war gar den. Mrs. J. R. Nickles of near Hodges. was the guest of her sister, Mrs. T. M. Miller Saturday. While here she did some shopping in our stylish stores. Messrs. S. L. Barnes, Grier Sherard and Charlie Evans have "had the swell head for the last week. They had the mumps. They are better now much to their own delight. Mrs. J. A. Anderson and daughter, Miss Mary, of Antreville, spent Friday here shopping. Miss Genevieve Anderson of- Lander College, who is at home for the Easter holidays was here also. Pretty Miss Cyrena Pearson, who teaches the Little Mountain school, was in the city Saturday afternoon. She spent the week-end in the Cold Springs neighborhood with friends. Miss Hattie Lou Haddon, one of Antreville's most attractive- young ladies, spent Saturday in the city. Her father, D. L. Haddon, accompanied her. Mrs. C. M. Cochran was in the city Saturday afternoon. She told us that she was not shopping but that she had come to town just because she could as she was tired of staying at home. Corporal Raymond C. Price of Camp Jackson, and D. Beatty Price of Anderson, were recent .visitors at "Suitus" the home of their brother, R. Ross Price at Penneys Creek section. Lieut. Frank E. Harrison is at home for about two weeks from Ft. Monroe. He will be stationed at Sandy Hook, after his furlough is up. His friend, Lieut. Brunner also of Fort Monroe, is here on a visit. He will be stationed at Fort Moultrie. Lieut. Carroll Swetenburg came I up from Camp Jackson for Sunday. Sergt. Charlie Armor and Private John Armor of Camp Sevier, spent Sunday here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Z. B. Rogers and bright son, Lee, of Elberton, Ga., were here to spend Easter with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Lee. Mr. R. S. Galloway of Due West, was a pleasant visitor in our office j Friday. He was in the city to make his income tax returns. Miss Julia Mabry of Columbia, came home to spend Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.. L.
