Her husband", a on of Jim Jones ,who lives on the Abbeville road, is still in Columbus, irhere he has charge of a pack train if mules which carry provisions over he mountains of that rugged terrl- t ory.?Greenwood Journal. 1 )EATH OF MISS MAGGIE GIBERT Miss Maggie Gibert died at the ome of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth ribert in the Lebanon section, on Wednesday evening, March 15th, 916. She had long been a faithul and consistent member of the Leanon Presbyterian church, and funral services were held there Friday t eleven o'clock. Miss Gibert is survived by her lother and three sisters, Misses Anie and Lucy Gibert, and Mrs. J. G. Ivans, and Hon. J. S. Gibert, a broher. Miss Gibert came of distinguished ncestry, being a daughter of Rev. . F. C., March 18.?Th< supreme court has upheld the legality of the appropriation of $100,000 fo] continuing the improvements at th< State Hospital for the Insane. Members of the Board of Regents sait this morning the improvements athe asylum would be rushed forwart as rapidly as possible. The question as to the meaning o: certain items 6f the appropriation ac was raised by the comptroller gener al, who asked a legal interpretatioi of the part relating to the appropria tions for the contemplated improve ments at the asylum. The actioi was lodged in the supreme court, ia the original jurisdiction, the proceed ings being exparte. The regents o: the hospital were the petitioners anc Carlton Sawyer, comptroller general the respondent.
