H And we think we have prohibition ! The word "prohibition," us we use It, ap- t pears to be a misnomer. Our prohibition law ? Joes not prohibit anything except that a man c bail not buy his liquor at home. Our law al- * lows us to drink all the liquor we want, buy ill the liq' or we want, and buy It anywhere we want, except at home. I think this false position is injuring our mcmls. We drink more liquor now, than we s Irank under the old State dispensary law. In fact, not more than onf-fourtb of us appear to be reel prohibitionists. The other three-lourths are prohibitionists for the other f lei low. I cile the last | rohlbltlon bill championed by the prohibitionists in our legislature. It sturled olf beautifully, saying thai a c man should not buy, sell, oiler for sale, receive, transport or look at any malt or spirituous liquor; but before It llulshtd It took all 8 that buck and said that a man might buy a ^ullon at a time, with the privilege of buying c as otten as he pleased and wherever be pleased?except at home. j A gallon of liquor is about all a man ever needs alone time, and if that bill had become law we would have had prohibition permitting every person to buy all tue liquor he wanted, at any time he wanted, and wherever he desired to buy it, except at home, j which Is hardly prohibitive enough to be call-1 ed prohibition.
