He was well liked by the public generally, but it is thought that he j must have had enemies, as his fine ^ patch of watermelon vines was totally destroyed some weeks ago by being n pulled out of the ground. She was very bright and lively 11 with a fondness for society and a de- . cided talent for the amateur stage. 1 She frequently appeared before the ^ Miami public iu amateur performance 13 for the benefit of some local organization and always made a success of her a part. u On Sunday Mr. M.S. Mr. Ed Davis went with Mr. Burbank, and not being welcomed as usual' he entered the house, and to his ^ horror he discovered the dead bodies y of bis loved ones. A large rug on the floor was disturbed and the bed clothing in a tumbled condition. Girl Fonght Assailant. ti Mis. Davis seemed to have been thrown on the bed with her head toward the foot and her hair over her v face. She had been shot in both ~j breasts, one bay passing through her jt body and the mattress and lodging in ? the floor under the bed. It is the fe same number as that used by her fat- 8| her and his pistol which usually was ^ kept on the first floor cannot be found therefore it is generally believed that g the murderer or murderers used Mr. Davis'pistol to kill both himself and his beloved daughter. Nothing in the way of money, jewelry or silver seems to have been removed from the house and the sup- 8t position is that the object was crimi- ^ nal assault.
