A great deal Is written now-a-day& about the necessity of barmony between the employer and tbe employe, And tbere In uo doubt, but there la gome old advice giveD. But something else which la of vast lmpoitance to preserve thin barmony seems not to receive Its full quota of thought? the saving of a portion of that money which passes jrom employer to employe. WUdom makes sure of ber owe, and he who lays by for tbe rainy day Is building tbat foundation In wblch success only flourishes. Mankind is proud to call tbe saver tbe "lucky dog"?after be gets on in tbe world. And Indeed he Is lucky to see aright when tbe tide is coming In?not when li's going out. The Georgia Savings Bank and Trusi Company numbers among Its depositors hundreds of young men and women w bo will get tbe most out of llie. not simply because they have a bank account tbat draws Interest, but because tbey are forming the habit of saving. A spendthrift strikes the bottom sooner or later. jr you have not started vour bank accouni btgln now?tiday. Tbe safest place a m?n chu put bis money is to deposit it lu bank. The banks pay small interest, but it Is better tobavelt safe, tban to run risks for greater profit. Either bank at Abbeville will se ceive your money. The stock of the bank and the credit ofibe stockholders to double tbe amount of their stock Is pledged for security. There is scarcely a possibility for loss by depositors. A UNIQUE ENTERTAINMENT. The Sock Sociable Given by the I.Hdlen of the Aid Society of the Abbeville BnptlMt Church, n Suecew* Both ?a to Attcudnuce and hm to Flunnce. Due entirely to tbe untiring energy of Mrs C. E. Saunders and Mies Rlzpah Thompson, tbe Sock Social given at tbe residence of Mrs. A. W. Jones was a grand success. There was a large attendance. Everybody seemed to bave a good time. Cream and cake were served In abundance, free of charge. Everyone who came brought their little sock with twice as many pennies therein as the number of bose or half-hose tbey wore, and others who did not come, sent tbeir con trlbutlon, so that there was found to be cents to the number of about three thousand. This will go towards paying for Improvements upon the parsonage. The ladles who had the social in charge thank all those who contributed, and If there are others who would like to give, tbey can hand the amount either to the ladles aforemeutioned, or lo the writer, and it will be thankfully received.
