The higher we rise, the more isolated we become; all elevations are cold. Calumny would soon starve and die of itself if nobody took it In and gave it lodging. The injuries we do and those^we suffer are seldom weighed in the same balance. He who lives only to benefit himself confers on the whole world a benefit when he dies. Silence never shows itself to so great an advantage as when it is made the if frn nolnmnir on/1 /lafamofSnn vy tmuuiuj nuw uviuujubiwui Let him who would move the world first move himself. If you want enemies, excel others, if friends, let others excel you. More spirit of reverence is sadly needed these times. All things have become common to many people. Be satisfied with your possessions, but not contented with yourself unless you have made the best of them. The yoke, the burden, that Jesus bore?what was it? It was sacrifice of Belf to others so unreserved that it became most joyful. No unconsenting soul can be made to sin and so sin is inexcusable. The door has the bolt inside, and no hand but mine can throw it. Men become a bane to themselves and to society when dominated by a critical, carping and harsh spirit. Think seldom of your enemies, often of your friends and every day of Christ, and spend as much time as you e-an with body and spirit, in God's out of doors. Train yourself to find the good in what seems evil, to make of disaster an oppurtunity for your courage, to master suffering.by patience, to learn from sorrow sympathy. The fault finder does not attract. There is something about his face, gait and manner as well a9 about his temper and words that repel. Character and capacity are ail of life that we take with us when death 8wings open the door from this into the next room in our Father's house. ^ J ? r : ' ' THE CULTURE OF DUE WEST I Professor* not in Khirt Waist*?Th I College*?Personal*?Mr. Wooriruf of Floritla.
