In a stroll last Sunday Along the big road we met up with Mr. Scott Humrnond, weavei in the Abbeville Cotton Mill. Without a suspicion that he was being Interviewed for publication In the Press and B inner, we applied our pump, and he talked V very freely and unequivocally in favor, ol cotton mill work, as compared with renting land, and growing cotton. He has had three years experience In the cotton mill business. and Is euthuslastic In its praises. In order to tSV . hear blui talk we proposed that he.join us In jtt&iv a walk, when we took in Cromer's brick yard, ? and discussed the qii'tlity of his brick. We ?. ' - looked at Mr. L. T. Miller's pasture, which he is breaking up with a four horse plow, and - ' walked up the railroad track to the trestle &? across the big road. We were pumping him &*; all the time. We have all tbe help that le needed now, but In a little while there will be a demand for a great Increase of'the mill force, aDd I hope tbat our own people may .? ;/ take advantage of the opportunity which to offered. i i !
