r For Boy? to Remember.
l* A boy can have no higher nor more
D worthy ambition than to become a true
Christian gentleman. The following
? from an exchange is well worth remembering,
and in following out its
* suggestions every boy will the better
realize his idea:
e Roughness, blustering, and even
s fool-hardiness are not manliness. The
J firmest and most courageous men have
v usually been the gentlest.
Muscular strength is not health!
A brain crammed only with facta is
e not necessarily a wise one.
J The labor impossible to the boy of
e fourteen will be easy to the man of
e twenty.
The best capital for a boy is not
* money, but the love of work, simple
o tastes, and a heart loyal to his friends
- and God.
t
"
t
l All special privileges of every sort
e are obnoxious to the spirit of the age
[ in which we live.
He that will not serve God except
* something be given him, would serve
8 the devil if he would give him more.
8 Children are usually, though not ali
ways, as good as their parentage and
bringing up allow them to be.
! vvnen you near a man say mar every
e man has his price, you may depend 1
1 upon it that be at least is on the mart
ket.
, ?
' If we were all as good as we expect
our neighbors to be, there would be
immense improvement in society.
An error frankly acknowledged is a ,
victory won.
