IS. K. Cox. Mend Yourself. Once upon a time there was a schoolmaster placed over a new school. His pride was aroused, and he wanted to make that just the very best school | that ever was. He pondered over it a good while, and then he concluded that the best way to get at his object was to rouse a spirit of self-respect and self improvement in the pupils. Thus Jeannette was rewarded a second time for honoring old age. Good Advice. Hope Hennan, in the Nashville Ad. vacate makes these points for young preachers. Good for old ones, too: f,"Sou ought to know all your people well; cultivate the children, hut do not neglect the men. If you cannot see them at home, see them at their places of business.
