IT ( Vmnri uro-inli/wl .... nltln on<l In. slructivc sermon in the Baptist church Sunday lrom the text: "O that iny ways were directed U> keep tliy statutes." JIc drew a forcible lesson lrom the text by showing DaVlil to be a man of sound reason, Jarge experience, Kiut a broad culture, and withal a man after (>od's own heart; and how reasonable it was for us to imitate him by precept and example, by adopt!ng t he words of the text. The speaker went oil to show that wo were creatures of imitation, and how prone we were to exert all our mind und will-power to speak and act like authors and statesmen tuoro modern and far below D^vid'n standard. After we have discovered our own sinfulness by a self examination, lie impressed upon his hearers the Importance of doing as David did, looking to a power without to be healed, and showed the tolly of appealing to our corrupt natures, the fountain head of sin, for the cleasitig of any sin within us. Dr. W.T. Weir who lives near Clinton In Laurens county has a very peculiar case under treatment which has so far battled all medical skill, and puzzled tho fraternity. The case is a little son of his about three yearn ok), and is one of the uWicttd that deserves tho sympathies of all people, lie has had one leg broken four times, tho other, three; one arm twice broken, the oilier three times. Has had his co'lar bone tractured and many severe bruises about II : head, toes and fingers, incident to a child learning to walk. Some physicians argue that his bones arc too soft, others that they are too hard. One peculiarity is tnat the little fellow is able to walk without the aid of crutches, in about two weeks after the bones have been set, while ordinarily It takes fractures months to knit together. Quite recently lie had both legs in splints at the same time, The Doctor would like to have the opinion of any physician who may happen to read this notice, wliii the hope that some relief may be found for this little butlerer. Many times, checks cannot bo used In our town at all, The merchants may not need them and there Is no other source to have them cashed from. There'ought to be Id each county a money center and depository. The dividends a bank may pay is not its only good?that Is an advantage only to t he stock owner.
