which they thought would be damaging
to their white neighbors, but never an extenuating

no less patent that when actual facts did not
exist to their liking they could easy enough

knowledge of the offending party. Without
exception tlie negroes denied the reason for
t heir organizing into companies on the day of
election, when It is a well known fact, and
one which we have never heard denied, that
