The Chronicle and Constitutionalist.
Last week we had tho plciisuro ol
a visit from Mr. Earlie L. Jennings, the
energetic agent of this sterling daily arid
' weekly journal. Tho Cfiruniclc and
Constitutionalist hag long been a necessity
at the Press and Banner otllce, and
k mny high praise which we would now
bestow on that paper which was tirst to
urge South Carolina to the political
I course that brought her deliverance
I would be only to repeat something that
I we have said before. As early as 1875
that paper, with an ability and boldness
Hfcc that was not without effect, urged us to

Always manly, high-toned and honora|

and skill displayed in tiio general makeup
of the paper cannot fail to commend
itself to our citizens.
Religious Meeting.
Rev. A. CokeSmith.of Greonville,delivered
an excellent sermon in the Methodist
church last Monday night. Large
crowds are in attendance upon the daily
meeting for divine worship in the Methodist
church for the past two weeks, and
many souls have been hopefully converted.
The additions to the church number
about fifteen. Others aro expected to
join before the meeting breaks up. We
are not advised as to the length of time
tho meeting will continue but presume
that it will be prolonged until next Sunday.
Rev. Mr. Martin preached a most
acceptnble sermon to a full house last
Sunday night. Christians of all denominations
have been attending these meetings
and are in sympathy with the tForts
of the Methodist*brethren in their labor
for the advancement of tho Redeemer's
kingdom.

Wu take the following notice from the

and pet a copy one year. That paper
says: The Christian Union >:oos to its

readers more short articles, more short
paragraphs, more information, with
more telegraphic brevity. Address

McCords Colic Mixture.
For Horse*, Mules and Cattle.
The undersigned have been appoiuted sole
agents for the .sale of "MCCOBDS COLIC MIXTURE,"an
Infallible clircjfor colic in horsoa
mule* or cattle. This prepamtibn was pattented
June 80, 18C9, and in the short time
which has elapsed sin<fe has attained n reputation
unequaled by any patented medicine
011 the globe. We hftvo In our possession tcsUmoniias
from numerous persons who have
used it:
I have had two occasions to use McCords
Colic Mixture in cases that seemed despernto.
The success In curing was apparently magical.
it is administered withont tfoubleor delay,
is speedy In action, and I think is so valuable
that every person who manage} horses
or mules should kefcd it nt hand.
1>. L. WAIiDLAW.
I saw Mr. McCord tise his medicine on a
mare that had bfeen travelling, and whs seized
with cramp colic. The animal was dropping
down f equently and in greut pain. In
a short time ilfter the medicine was given?in
ton minutes, at the farthest,?the animal was ]
easier, and in an hour I saw the animal harnessed
and driven off, and learned subsequently
she performed the Journey and had
no mora colic.
THOMAS THOMSON.
I have had one occasion to use McCord'a
Colin Mixture. It was very effective and I
think Is an excellent medicine.
