C B %| Handiwork of Lunatics* jj A curious exhibition, saj-s the "Pall Mall w Gazette," has lately lteen opened to the public in the lunatic a>ylum at Brunnfeld, ^ near Vienna. The objects exhibited are dtiuded into .three classes: the first compris- jV ing two hundred and fifteen articles, made entirely by the lunatic?; the second, articles destroyed by them in their moments of ? frenzy; and the third, models, etc., show Ing how they are lodged and clothed. Among the articles in the first class arc delicately carved meerschaum pipes, lace, picture-frames, and a remarkable collection * of paintings by Kratky, who, before he J| became insane, was a celebrated artist at by Vienna. These paintings show no signs of ^ insanity, and one of them i.< a wonderfully pj lifelike representation of the lunntics hearing pr mass in the chapel attached to the asylum. jfext to these specimens of the constructive 'skill of the inmates, ure placed huge iron tai bars "bent double, spoons and plates broken uc to pieces, and doors split in halve*. The favorite occupations of these unfortunate people are stated to be writing and drawing, fa which 6ome of them have bccomo tiugu* H1 Krly proficient. PI =???? - ?fe< JJIsobejing Orders* George Walmbold, who reside* in Philadelphia, has nine performing dogs and two monkeys. The lagsst monkey is known oa iJeirry, and is said to be very vicious in his disposition. A few days ego Mr. Walmbold went to Canada, and he cautioncd his wife hot to take the monkeys from the Cage, pj Que afternoon some visitors were at the B] house, and they desired to see a perform- w( ance. Mrs. Walinbold got Jerry out of his cage in order that he might go through some of his amusing tricks. But Jerry didn't aecm to be in a good humor,.and, instead of performing* he -attacked Mrs. Walmbold. _j This created considerable consternation. The woman yelled, and a little boy, the son qf Walmbold, ran out into the street. William Buckley, and two men who reside in the neighborhood* entered the bouse, and after a struggle, lasting nearly fifteen min- ^1 ntes succeeded in getting the monkey into J his cage. In the meantime, the dogi joined ^3 in the fight, and the men were bitten in the br legs. Mrs. Walmbold had two fingers and Pr one arm severely lacerated. Buckley was bitten by the monkey, and a little boy who rushed in to see the fun received a bite over the eye'.' A policeman wanted to shoot tha ^ monkey, but was not permitted to do so. mi ... . . A1 ' Carious Wills. la \ ? pr Among curious wills which have been pa brought ui light, there are two which ex- j| Libit conjugal affection in an interesting aud somewhat unusual light. One is the will of a late member of the English Parliament, in which he thus speaks of bis brilliant wife:? ."The unspeakable interest with which I constantly regard my wife's future fate in* duces me to advise her earnestly to unite herself again with some one who 'may deHerre to ery[oy the blessing of her society during the many years of her probable survival after my deaths t am gratfulto Provi* ? dence for the great happiness I enjoy in her *ingular affection, and 1 pmy and confidently hope that she may long continue to possess the same esteem and" friendship of those who arc intimate with hen and can T appreciate her admirable qualities and the | respect of all with whom in any relation of of life she is connected." A'u The other is the will of lady who died in 1S68, bequeathing all her property te bcr husband. She adds:?- * "It is also my earnest wish that my darl>1 I 1 J 1 ? J ' jog nusuunu unouiu marry ere ion# a nice, pretty girl who is a -good housewife, and, above all, to be careful that she is of a good temper." The Kin; of Beastg. Dr. Livingstone is said to bare expressed the utraoat contempt for lion*. Conversing j one day with Sir Edward Landsoer, it a party in London, he said,?
