F. Perry pub lishecl a letter of advice to the peo ple of the State of South Carolina, which, if practicable, would com mend itself to all men opposed to wrong and robbery. But the misfortune is, that while the blacks are banded to a man to carry out their policy of hate and oppression to the whites, the whites are cowed, indifferent, and unwil ling to combine to infocre any such policy as is advised by Gov, Perry, lest tney lose me uj .? their lands are cultivated, and then unscrupulous neighbors benefit b) tjfcei* patriotism. But were a policj adopted that did not require a general combina tion, but could be carried out by the bold; determined men of every community, then Cuffee could be prougui ty icimo. Laborers for hire by the year are scarce all over the State; but labor ers that desire to rent mules and land are abundant. There is no doing anything with regard to those that hire, by way of compelling them to vote with their employer. Men who win love do their own wooing, and I never knew a man to fail so signally, as one who induced his affectionate grandmother to speak a good word for liim. "Whether you work lor fame, for love, for money, or for anything else, work with your hands, and heart, and brain. Say "I will," and some day you will conquer. Never let any man have it to say, "I have dragged you up."
