The Stats Lunatic Asylum. Dr. Lebby, of Charleston, has recently made a visit, iu behalf of the city of Charleston, to the State Lunatic Asylum, and makes a report as to the condition and management of the institution. He reports at present a very-satisfactory condition of things. The institution is indeed very far behind other similar hospitals for the insane, in being destitute of many of those modern improvements which have been elsewhere intro duced, but the present managements characterized as humane and judicious. The obnoxious employees, Dr. Harris and the keeper, Davis, have been removed, and the present Superintendent, Dr. Ensor, agisted by Dr. Sloan, is sparing no effort which can improve the -condition of the institution or conduce to the comfort of the inmates, lie says: "The Lunatic Asylum was closely aod thoroughly inspected, through the poiltetxcss and invitation of the Superin. teijdent, Dr. Knsor, uccompanied by his v . assistant, Dr. Sloan.
