Mrs. Robt. Hortou returned from
Rock Hill Infirmary Monday, accompanied
by her husband.

March 25, 1917, Jno. A. Carnes performing
the ceremony.
It is a fact that there are now confined
in the Lancaster county jail
six white men and two negroes all
charged with murder.
The local express ofTlce appears to
be doing a land office business now
that the time approaches when dryness
will reign throughout the land.
The city offices have been moved
into the Old Harnett stand in the
Springs Hloek, and in a very short
time its business will be proceeding
with its usual dispatch in the now
quarters.
The many friends of Mr. Lawson
Carnes and Miss Marie Powess of
Dwight section will be pleased to
know that they were united in marriage
March 2E, 1917. Jno. A.
Carnes, notary public, performed the
ceremony.
The Lancaster Cottillion Club will
give their next cotillion dance Friday
evening, April 6th. A splendid
orchestra has been secured for the
occasion and the music will be superb.
A large number of couples
will attend this brilliant affair and
^ many visitors are expected.
It will be of great interest to the
people of Lancaster county to read
elsewhere in our columns the news
that on Saturday next there will be
held at the county court house a
meeting that is of the utmost importance

that Mr. E. G. . Swicegood was on
last Thursday waylaid and shot
about three miles below Fort Lai^n.
His wounds were dressed Thursday
