^ CAMP C'KEKK ITEMS. * | Our educational rally and picnic [k oil last Friday was a grand success ' Along all lines. Our speakers failed to show up but we had some good 1 substitutes. K. E. Wylie and John T. j - <Jreen of Lancaster and Kev. liogan Castor of Camp Creek church and County Farm Demonstrator Mc-Manus gave us some very pleasant j fh and instructive talks. At 12 o'clock one of the best and1 most bountiful dinners was spread I.. ? There wa.-> plenty left to have fed a sniilar crowd. Our Camp Creek ladies certainly do know how to prowide a tempting dinner. After some time spent all went to "their homes feeling good and no sloubt proud over the great success I. of the day. Our invited speakers. Judge Jones (.and County superintendent Lingle, understand, were absent on account of matters over which they fctd no control. We don't why out Jitate representative failed to show sjp. We claim to have one of the best. It not the best, rural school buildings; in the county which is a fair index to the educational spirit among the f?eopte and is a monument to their, 1 .loyalty to the great educational vpirit of the day. Such a building; cannot be built without men behind! ' ?t w o are determined to give their| children a chance to make men and I "womeu. With a little more work on. the house, with an additional four mill 'ax, whieh is coming in the near futur-, with a spirit of harmony and "onity among the people, with every tnan s shoulder to the wheel, with co operation of trustees and patrons with our teachers. for we believe we bare the right teachers in the right (plan- and our school will be second to none in the county. Our school opened a six-month's -se.>H.on October 30th, with about 60 pupils with a dally increase. In ati experience of over twenty-five years of teaching in different communities 1 never began a school where the fliatro-.s appear to lend a more helping hand and gave the teachers a warmer welcome than they have so f:?r at this point. Everybody seems 4o be pleased. All those things help largely in the success of the school. The students will give an enter i lalnment next Saturday night for The benefit of the school and only a tonal! fee will he charged. Kverv iljody is invited and we guarantee -value received for your money. No other special news in the neighborhood. No serious sickness. Our good friend, Mr. Morris is quit* miiwell, hut we trust he may soon Improve. The farmers are busy gathering And sowing.
