Mr. Irvin Brlce McKeown and Miss Georgia Bell Bailey, both of the Elgin section, were united in marriage at the Methodist parsonage in the presence of a few friends, Sunday afternoon, December 26. The ceremony i was performed by the Rev. J. B.' Weldon, P. C. C. i Mr. Elpier Bowers and Miss Pauline Mathis were married in the study of the Baptist pastorium Sunday night, December 26, at 8:30 o'eloek. I The eeremonv. which was nerformed I by the Rev. J. W. H. Dyches. was witMessed by a number of the relatives and friends of the contracting parties. Dr. H. W. Bays, presiding elder of the Sumter district, will preach at Hanging Rock church next Sunday fternoon, January 2, at 3:30 o'clock. The quarterly conference will be held several weeks later. Mr. and Mrs. IS. B. Mobley. and Taylor, spent Christmas with Mrs. Mobley's father. Mr. S. 1). Taylor and family, in Lancaster. Mrs. W. C. Ellis, and Ituth. left Wednesday afternoon for Columbia, where they will spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Mobley. Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Staltiaker of White Springs. Pla., have been the guests of their son, I)r. B. D. Stalnaker. and family during ilie holidays. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Mobley went to Greeleyville Saturday afternoon t > spend awhile with Rev. and Mrs M. Ussery of Tiger, Ga., visited the former's mother and sisters, near Heath Spring, during the holidays. A number of the relatives and friends of Mr. P. W. Twitty of the Flint Ridge section united with him in the celebration of his fifty-fifth birthday, with a sumptuous dinner, Saturday, December 25th. The prize of one dollar, offered by the Majectic Range Company for the best letter on the points of superiority of that range, was awarded by the committee to Miss Mary Moore and Willie Bruce Williams. Mr. D. W Hendrix and daughter, Miss Nannie, went to Cedar Creek Sunday to visit the former's brother. Mr. Hasel Vaughn of Rock Hill, and Mesdames C. C. Hinson of Columbia and Irby Hinson of Blacksburg visited their parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Vaughn, during the fes tive season. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Horton and family spent Christmas with Messrs. II. II. Horton and R. B. Maekey in Lancaster. Dr. Walter Twitty of Rock Ilill visited his father, Mr. P. T. Twitty, and his brother, Mr. W. B.- Twitty, early in the week. Mr. J. Rdgar Mobley spent Christmas Day with his father-in-law, Mr. Henry Young, at Kershaw. Mrs. I). I). Williams went to Lancaster Fridav to visit her brother, Mr." J. S. Wilson. The Heath Spring school will open Monday morning, January 3rdA son was born to Mr. and Mrs.-O C. Adams of the Flint Ridge section, a few days ago. Mesdames Lucius Bell, Ilasel Vaughn, Willie Faulkenberry and Robert Vaughn, with their families* spent Christmas Day with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. II. P. Mobley. Mr. K. C. Mackey of Lancaster ate Christmas dinner with his parents, Mr.- ami Mrs. Z. F. Mackey. Mr. Ira Maekey visited relatives and friends in Lancaster during the Christmas season.
