A few days since, one of our leading citizens, iu i conversation about the matter, said ; conditions were worse now in Lanj caster as regards the illicit sale of I liquor, than ever before in the hisj tory of the town. But thore is relief from the evil and it lies with those ' whose sworn duty tt is to enforce the law. The city council of Anderson are now after the blind tigers and so-called clubs In that city and have effecutally put them on the run. We commend to the city counI ell and our citizens generally a care-1 rul reading of tho following editorial taken from The Anderson Intelli gencer, which applies so well to ! present conditions in Lancaster that j wc give it in full.
