" ?The Lancaster friends of Mr. j W. W. Boykin will he pleased to know that he is steadily recovering from his recent illness. He underwent a serious operation in Baltimore, but has since returned to his \ home in Charlotte. We wish for Mr. Boykin an early and complete recovery. ?The Baptist denomination have decided to have paved the sidewalks bordering on all of their i property, along White, Arch and Market streets. This means perhaps six hundred feet of pavement. We hope individual property owners will do likewise, that there may be good sidewalks all over town. The following letter from Mr. Ellison, addressed to the trustees of the Lancaster graded schools, asking them to grant a holiday to the school children on "Lancaster county day" will probably be acted upon today. It contains, besides, the arrangements Mr. Ellison has already made for the trip and for that reason will be of interest to all our readers: JK Oentlemen:?Thnrr\lay, October, 29th, hns been des'gnated as "Lancaster County I): y" at the State Fair, same being held in Coluinb'a October 26 to 20, Inclusive. In connection with the above, beg to advise that Lancaster is the only county in the state to he accorded a special day of this nature so far; hence we should do all in our power to make ibis one day a great advertising factor for Lancaster and Lancaster county. We have arranged for a special train to handle the Lancaster delegation on this particular day, leaving Lancaster 7 a .m. on the morning of the 29th, arriving Columbia 11 a m The Carolina-Clemson game will be delayed until our arrival. The special will be parked at the fair grounds and will leav on return trip promptly at 9:30 p. m., therefore giving all who go on the trip a chance to see the magnificent fireworks between 8 and 9 p. m., as well as the many other attractions during the day.
