J I $1.50 PER YEAR Heath Springs Happening?. Special to The Lancaster News The children and grandchildren of Mr. H. P. Mobley, with a few other friends, cheered his heart Sunday, and greatly enjoyed themselves, by partaking of the bounteous dinner spead at his home in commemoration of his birthday. Mrs. Small and Mrs. Dyches spent Friday afternoon in Kershaw. Mr. W. B. Twitty spent several days last week, near Camden surveying. Miss \x7.-_ ??v*vi* iwuidgd \JL VY ill* throp came home for a brief visit, Sunday. Mr. J. C. Beckham visited his mother at Oakhurt, Sunday afternoon. Miss Meta Moore of Lancaster visited the Misses Therrell Sunday* Mr. Otis Mobley of Furman University, under the advice of a Greenville physician, is at home for awhile. Mr. James Robertson, whose hand was painfully cut by Bennett's ^in a few days ago, is slowly improving. Mr. Lewis Duncan's commodious and beautiful new dwelling house is nearing completion. Miss Laura Therrell will have charge of the Crenshaw school during the fall and winter months. Mr. Lewis Duncan lost a fine horse last week, the result of a burn received when his father's j stable was destroyed the latter , eart of August. Mr. L. j~. Mackey, in order to catch a cotton thief, recently bought a quantity of seed cotton from a suspect. Securing sufficient evidence, he then .took out a warrant for the robber, whose arrest followed. It now devalopes that a number of other colored men were implicated, and that a wholesale robbery has been going on for some time, j Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Bennett spent Sunday afternoon with relatives in Lancaster, making the trip in their automobile. Faulkenberry--Adams Thursday Oct. 17th, Mr. Leonard I). Adams and Miss Nettie Fualkenberry were united in marriage at the home of P. E. Blackmon. The attendants were Mr. W. B. Vaughn with Miss Lois Sims, Mr. T. S. Floyd with Miss Mae Sims. The bride was handsomely gowned in blue silk trimmed in cream lace. The groom is a very prosperous young man of the I/uigsville section, and a son of Mr. 1. J. 1 Adams. The bride is a daughter of Mr. W. S. Faulkenberry of the Longsville section. The eontmeHnor parting arc well thought of and respected in the community in which they live. \\'e wish for them a prosperous journey though life. The c< remony was performed by P. Iv Blackmon. Attendant. A long suffering public now rejoices that the carnival has left the town. It made the early hours of last Sunday morning hideous as it wended its way to the depot. Here's hoping it has left us never t? return. If you need a good laugh, see "Mutt and Jeff," made famous I by Bud Fisher's cartoons, at the Opera House Saturday night. We had a pleasant call yesterday from our old friend, Mr.F.M. Lowry, of Taxahaw, who is serving as a juror this week. Mr. Lowry is one of the successful farmers of the county who never : buys corn, meat and the othmr necessaries which can be raised at home. Hence his success as a ; farmer.
