knitting machines, etc., on the
production ot ribbed hosiery,
which it dyes and finishes ready
for the market.

Sullivan hae received a letter
trom a very prominent gentleman
ofGreenville in which he
offers to build a $200,000 cotton
mill here if the town will raise
as much as $75,000. No definite
steps haye been taken in regard
to the matter, but very likely
Capt. Sullivan will call a meet
ing ol the board ot trade to
consider the matter at an early
date.

engine. The mill will have a
capacity of 100 dozen pairs of
hose and will employ 20 operatives.
It is planned to enlarge
the mill later in the year.

Cotton Mills Company was organized
with a paid-up capita;
stock ot $250.C00 at a meeting
held in theoffieeot the Albany
Business League yesterday atternoon.
