Mr. C. II. Kverall, of the Jacksonbam
section, will move to town
today, occupying the house in South
End vacated Monday by Mr. Sam Harper,
who moved into the old home of
bis brother. Mr. Robert Harper, who
is now in his new residenco.
Mr. Mothershed tells us that the
"Mortgage Eifter" cotton seoil which
he is advertising for sale is the best of
tho many varieties, that he has tried in
his many years' experience as a farmer.
It yielded for him this year on an average
of 1(595 pounds of seed cotton per
acre.
The many friends of Mrs. J. P. Carnes,
of the O. K. soetion, will bo pleased to
loam that she is improving in health.
She loft the hospital at itoek Hill Sunday
and came over to Lancaster, where
she is staying with her sister, Mrs. S.
K. Williams, until she is able to make
the trip to her homo near (). K.

The many friends througout the
county of Mr. L. M. Cauthon, who lives
with his son-in-law, Mr. John Itridgos,
al Heath SpJings, will regret to learn
lhattho genial and clever old gentleman
is quite sick. He has been unable to ho
up in more than two weeks. Mr. Cauthon
is one lof the oldest citizens in the
county, being about 88 years old.

Elmore Wright's Sentence.
Elmore Wright, the young
man from Lancaster county, 900
of Mr. Hubert Wright, ot Ueath
Springs section, who, as heretofore
published, was tried in Spartnburg
a few days ago ifor the
Killing of A. G. Kirkendall and
found guilty of manslaughter,
has been sentenced to the penitentiary
lor ten years and one
day. The case, however, it is
stated, will be carried to the
Supreme Court.
Death of Master Thomas Mel tow
Mr. Thos F. McDow, ot Yorkville,
has the sympathy ot his
friends in Lancaster, his old
home, in the loss ot his bright
and attractive little son, Master
Thomas, whose derth occurred
Sunday at the home oi his fond
parents. The lad, who was six
years of age, was a victim of congestion
of the liver and had been
t-ick about ten days. The burial
