our first church here, ie in high a favor
with his people and has done a fine
year's work. He and his flock deserve
much credit for (heir fine conquest
over very trying difficulties and
circumstances. He is erecting one of
the finest and handsomest churches
in the State and the Annua* Conference
will make a mistake if it does
not accept Lancaster's hearty invitation
to meet here next year. Lancaster
is a tine little city, easily reached,
full of "big hearted", hospitable
Deoide. where Methodism is takinir
a strong hold; and she needs the
8011th Carolina Annual Conference,
an?l the same Conference needs her.
Let us all vote for Lancaster.

Hoyd is in receipt of an opinion by
the war department of interest especially
to young men intending to enlist for
the encampments next summer. A
recent order of the department, it will
be remem >ored, requires that every
man to be eligible for muster for pay at
the encampments must have had the
necessary training and must be enlisted
six months prior to encampment unless
they have had previous service or been
trained in a military school.
