Mr. Lloyd Moore, who recently removed with his family here from Fort Lawn, is having a nice six-room residence built in East End, ju^t this side of the home ot his father, Mr. W. M. Moore, which he will occupy as soon as comoleted. The tneetiug at Unity in Laocaster county lasted about a week. Rev. LI. B. Blakely did the preachiug. There were six accessions by profession and three by certificate. The congregation seems to be taking on new lite and the people are delighted with their new pastor, Rev. C. S. Young.?A. R. I'resbyterian. The Rev. R. Lee Robinson, of Camden, Ala., who is visiting his parents in this vicinity, Mr. and Mrs. N. I*. Robinson, paid us a pleasant call yesterday. He had just returned from a drive with his father over the town and expressed to us his amazement at Lancaster's wonderlul growth in the last lew years. Mr. Kibinson attended the county campaign meeting at Hopewell Tuesday and was moat agreeably surprised to witness the marked development ol thai section?the nice new dwellings, churches, school houses, fine farms, etc. Mrs. Capers, widow ot Bishop Ellison Capers, died at her home in Columbia Thursday. The candi dates made practica'ly the same speeches as were delivered by them at Hopewell, and which are published elsewhere. They were given close attention by an appreciative audience. Death of Mr. Charlie Wilson. Mr. Charles L. Wilson, a well known and gallant old Contederate veteran of this county, died Thursday at hi9 home in the Bethel section, from the effects of an old wound. As a soldier he had a fine record tor bravery displayed in battle and fidelity to duty at all times. He was a kind, generous-hearted man, oe ing particularly fond of children, by whom he will be sadlv missed wherever he was known. A Popular Lancaster Couple Marrietl in HocV llill. Mr. Herman Canfield. Jr., the popular manager of the Virginia Life Insurance company's department in Lancaster, ami Mrs. Sallye K. Roddey, youngest daughter of Maj. and Mrs. J. M. Riddle, were happily married in Rock llill last Wednes day afternoon. The ceremony was performed at the Episcopal Rectory, by the rector, the Rev. Mavnard Marshall. The bride and groom were given a moonlight drive around Rock Hill Wednesday night by Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Patrick of that city. They returned to Lancastei Thursday morning. /tenth of Mr. Krwin Sims. Mr. Erwin Sims, a well known young citizen of the eastern por< tion of the county, died at his home Wednesday, of typhoid fever. He leaves a widow, who was a Miss Dees. Among the surviving brothers and sisters are Mr. Jesse Sims and Mrs. Lawrence Catoe. It will be recalled that it was only a tew weeks ago Mr. Sims lost a brother, Mr. Benjamin Sims, who wai a victim of the same disease. The remains were buried at Fork Hill church Thursday. The Sti'rnee Reunion. The annual family reuniou at the home of Mr. Thomas II. Starnes, an old Confederate vet eran, in Uni<n county, N. C , will be held today week, August 22.
