pany. Policeman McMnnus was
a member <f the force- some

The many friends of the old
policemen, Chief I. T. Hunter
and R. 11. Kiddle and- James
Fergu-on, regret their retirement,
each of whom in his own way has
endeavored to discharge his duty.
Mr. Hunter has an especially
long record of edi dent public
service to his credit, having been

lie was widgly known as a brave,
cool officer, which lact had a
salutary effect upon evil doers
and the lawlessly inclined. His
successor, Mr. Cauib n, is also a
man of undoubted courage and
