What Mob Rule Leads To.
It is not believed that any
sane person can read without dis
gust ol the act of that Maryland
mob which after kicking a negro
murderer to death, buried the
body in a swamp, returned I he
next day, dus: it up, and riddled
it with bullets and finally burned
it after soaking it with oil. While
the corpse blazed the frenzied
humans did a war dance around
the pyre.
The mere recital of this frenzv
of passion disgusts and nauseates.
The mental picture conjured by
a narration of the gruesome details
is hideous and ghastly and
causes wonderment that men can
sink so to the verge ot savagery.
Yet this orgy is but the logicalsequetice
of mob rule. From an or
Uerly lynching to the wanton revelry
of crapulent brutishness
of the Maryland affair is but a
natural retrogression. The one
is to be traced to the other. 1? ih
are begotten by a disregard for
the law, which is in >n's | roteehon
from primeval lust-, and to a
common cause both are to be ascribed.

Futhermore, as a most picturesque
feature of the spectacle,
we should notice that some of
the stars are red, others blue,
yet others violsl and still others
green in color. Ot course, all of

The hottest stars are blue.
