Cards.
Washington, July 13.?Postmastor
General Meyer today pro
mulgated an order, effective Aug.
1st, providing that Ihe face side
of a postal card may be divided
by a vertical line placed approx
imately one-third of the distance
from the leit end of the card; the
space to the left of the line to be
used lor a message, etc., the po-- 1
tion to the richt to be used for I
the address only. A very thin "
sheet of paper may bo attached
if it completely adheres to the
card, and such a paster may bear
both writing and printing. Advertisements,
illustrations or writing
may appear on the back of ^
the card and on the left third of
the front. Postal cards bearing
particles of glass, metal, mica,
sand, tinsel or other substances,
are declared to be unmailable,
except, when enclosed in envelnr>ps
with nronor nostatre affixed.
