Pope is for Mrs. S. Reed Stoney, daughter of Col. Pope. She will pre sumably hang it in her home. < The portrait of Gen. This Up, picture at Winthrop, Senator gg Tillman says, is a "monatosity". pOI He does not want any monstros- 8ac ity at Winthrop purporting to look like him, and this one which ua, Miss Strait is painting is to take wa the place of the monstrosity. It is a life size portrait, three quarter length, and represents the ^ * senator in his most pleasing attitude of countenance.
