Well-known Methodist Minister Passes Away at his Spartanburg Home. Spartanburg special in Charleston Sunday News ; Rev. William Anson Rogers, aged 57 years, one of the best known ministers of the Methodist Church of South Carolina, died at his residence on Hampton avenue, this city, this morning at 10 o'clock, after a long illness, his death occurring on the aniver sary of his birth. The death of Mr. Rogers, while not unexpected, has caused great sorrow and regret, not only among the Methodists ot Spartanburg and the State, but among those ot all denomina tions. He was loved and admir ed for his sweet disposition, sympathetic nature and high R pe of Christian character, llis life was devoted to the cause of Christianity, visiting the homes of the sick and atllicted, and do* ing good towards all mankind. Mr. Rogers graduated at Wofford College in 1872, with Bishop A. Coke Smith, Rev. C. B. Smith and Justice C. A. Woods, r>l tha State Supreme Court. Read?The News.
