On last Friday John Mcll wain, col., pleaded'guilty before Magistrate Caskey of the charge of wile-beating. His sentence was $1T> or 30 days He paid the fine. Henry,who will move to Hock 11 ill the first of 'Inly, having recently accepted the posit ion of cashier of the Rock Hill Buggy Co. Mr. Henry, as is well known, is at present tho popular and efficient cashier of the Lancaster Mercantile Company, which position he has filled most acceptably for several years, lie came to Lancaster, from Rock Hill, some years ago and during his residence hero has, by his genial manner, gentlemanly deport luem ami uniiorm courtesy, made a friend of every one with whom he has come in contact. A Timely JVord of Advice to Heeidentn of Lancaster. Say, if you do not want to be eaten up by mosquitoes this summer, get busy right, away cleaning off your back yards, lots and premises generally. The prolonged tainy spell has left poolR of water in many low places, which should be drained off at once. Also gather up all your old tin cans and other rubbish and cart same away. Let nothing remain on your premises that will tend to develop mosquitoes or disease germs. It is to be hoped that Council will also see to it that all stopped up or clogged street drains are reopened without delay.
