I he Liquor Question. Views of an Earnest Prohibitionist? His Advice to Voters. Mr. Editor: I'lease give me space to say a few words on the liquor question. As we have heard so much about it and saw so much of if, I can't help Iroui speaking out against, liquor in *i. .* :* t cytri v iui ill it may picociu itselt. Some people say we can't have prohibition because wliis key will be shipped across the line into our etate. Then, what must we do ? sit down and do nothing? No, no, ten thousand times, no. That is just what the devil and all the whiskey men want the prohibition party to do ?keep still. I know that, there is a great deal of whiskey shipped into Lancaster county, but drunkeness has decreased, at the least, 60 per cent since the dispensary was voted out here last fall. And what is good for this county is good for the whole United States. To those who can't see how we are to have prohibit ion, I will tell you my idea is to keep ever-lastingly at it Keep working and praying until we get our forces s'rong enough in Congress to pass a sweeping .Prohibition law. It may not come while we live, but I surely believe it will come, and that, in a few years. But it it don't come until we are dead, our work will not have been in vain?it will be good lor our children. There is plenty lor us to do yet, so let us fpt riclil ilnwn fn wr?rlr nnrl sop P?^v " -n"* " " ? "vv that there is no one sent to the Legislature of our state, nor to congress, who is not a strict prohibitionist. Let us pick men with clean hands aud with an honest heart?men who love and honor God and want to work for the betterment ot our homes and country. I will not vote for any man, I care not who he may be, who lines himself up on the whiskey side. The man that will not vote for prohibition because some men will order and drink whiskey, and because he can't stop it all at. once, will vote for the whiskey side; that is, the man thai has been nothing else but a whiskey man. And let me tell you, *?od says that you are a fool. He says strom: drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Whatsoever a man so wet h that shall he also reap So, then, if you vote tor a whiskey man and he iroes and makes a whiskey law, you will by ihat reap a harvest of drunkards. Thai law will cause mail' a hack to go naked, and little f-'v t to "a hire and many a poor one to li'l a drunkard's crave and a devil'.- hell. So may G <d help you as a voter to look this 111 iiit square in the lace, and I know when you do that, you will V'?to tor no whiskey man We h >vo neve r expected, as a prohibition party, to get rid of Mlronc drink all at once. It is a great questi n and it will take som time to settle it right, and tha i- the only wav to settle it. Some may tell you that because nO secure the bi fertilizers mu Apply at least 500 po 3 y2 per cent, nitrogei ph osphoric acid, and < Potash is a most ii culture. Our practic yours for the asking? of any sort, and a v information in them. Address, GER1Y Ne*v York?93 Nassau Street. >r tliey can't vote it out of flu whole world at one mighty sweep that tliey will not vote lor ptohibi tion, and they very well knov that Rome was not built in i day. Neither is the prohibitior party tryinn to vole whiskey of the lace ol the earth all at once But we do want it out of oui state,' first, and then we wanti out of our na'ion, and we wil never stop fighting the devil and his rum shops as long as there i: one to be found. Any man that claims to be i christian and votes lor whiskey does not belong to Christ. T< pray, "cive us mis clay our <lailj bread" and then go and vote t< legalize the whiskey traffic whicl takes the bread out the mouthi of thousands of helpless mother! and children; to pray "lead us no into temptation" and then vot< to place this the greatest tempia tion of today before our men and boys; to pray, "deliver uf from evil" and then vote for hi evil which has no equal; to praj their sacred prayer and then g< out and vote for whiskey, if nothing hut open mockery he fore God, and God is not mocked The church member who votes for or rents his property foi carrying on the whiskey traflh is sowing seed that will coun against him in the day of judg ment. So let in, as people living in i free country, \'v>te lor no'hin* but a straight out prohibitior man to fill every office Iron Governor down. I So Mr K. lit??i* - if lliia drtPsn not 111 x<m1 in your sweeping an( l' s?, I hope it will fiiul a plain in your paper, and into tin heart ol some voter that ha* nevi r voted for a prohibition lick, ft before, and that he will votf for it this fall.
