Ah the people become better acquaintedjwi'h the work, they . are getting more interested. Some of the more (-keptically minded ones, who have been studying the Crusade movement, * p are now convinced that the work is of God, and that these workers are earnest embassadors olChrist, whose sole mission to Lancaster * . ? is to rescue the perishing and to assist the nominal prolessors in Retting upon a higher plane of \ Christian living. The Home missionary work, which is an impoitant feature ot 5 the work of the Crusaders, was entered upon this week. Eighty* eight families have been visited ' and prayer has been offered in s seventy-seven homes. The workers were veiy cordially received ^ in most ol the homes visited. ...? > |n?ocniru ill I11S beauty and loveliness ?o the inmates of these homes, their r spiritual eondition was looked ^ into and they were instructed ac j cording to tlie requirements ol ^ the oracles ol God. In one of ihe ' homes, a sister, who had dieeovr er< d t hat she was in a back slid den condition, renewed her vows to God, and was blessedly reclaimed Others who were weak and discouraged were helped on their heavenward journey. There was a large attendance ? c out to iho meeting on Saturday night. An instructive and beneticial gospel ?^rmon was preach- ^ ed by Lieut. Marden, descriptive ( ol the ' Tarablo ot Ten Virgins," ^ from Matt. 25. The Pine Grove School, which ^ has been in se-sion since .January under the wise supervision of Miss Marion Logan, a bright,! efficient, and beautiful young lady from Yorkvilie, closed on j Friday, after a most prosperous I term. The pupils, numbering about thirty five, teacher, and a I, few invited friends spent a most i pleasant evening at the home of , Mrs. 8. R. Caskey on Thursday, where delicious refreshments were erv^l The thoughtful teacher had the grove beautifully lighted with Chinese lanterns. j which presented a happy scene as the gay young pupils played their innocent games beneath their effulgent ravs. It is con* ceded by trustees and patrons that this has proven one of the most mccessful terms in the history of I he school Miss Logan returned to Yorkville on Saturday, carrying with her the best ' wishes of her fond pupils and a j host of iriends. . - . I Commencement at Jefferson. jenorson special in Sunday's Stale : The Jefferson high school commencement exercises came to a close Wednesday night. The piogrumme given by the pupils I ol l lie school was exceedingly i well rendered and quite varied. Every pupil taking part rellected i much ciedtl on himselt and on I the school and especially are the teachers to he congratulated on {the marked success they have achieved.
