The dispensary investigating commitee is taking testimony u search of corruption. C'emson received $119, 000 lrom this source the pas' year. The house passed the Toole bill reducing passenger fare on rail roads from three cents to two and one half cents. Tlvo Southern depot bill has beon reported favorably by the senate committee on railroads, wiih an amendment extending the time for completing the road until January 1st 1907. This amendment is due to the merger suits against the Southern and it allows an apportunity to dis poso of those suits. The bill will v\ill pass as amended. The total expenditures of the state tho past year amounted to fivo million and lour hundred thousand dollars. The state has a bonded indebtedness o' hix and one-half mil lion dollars. The revenue of the stafo the past year exceeded the expenses by $125,000. The state realized $65,000 from ihe corporation license tax. Th'j law was passed in 1904. To this add $37,000 col lecltd from the insurance license fees and the S cretary of Slate received $20,000 from charter ^ fees etc., making a total indirect revenue of $121,000.00. jr.
