"Legislative Snap Shots" By Representative Foster?Lancaster Delegation Split on Blood Hounds?Bill to Resurvey Line Between Lancaster and Kershaw Counties?Other Matters of Interest. I am glad of this opportunity of giving the people of Lancaster Countv some legislative news. J*>sh Ashley, with his headlight of red hair, is here with full force and vigor. The house refused to kill the Richards bill requiring the counties to keep blood hounds for chasing criminals Mr. Ilanael voted against the bill and 1 killed his v< te. Some one said in the discussion that we did not want dog evidence in court and Josh Ashley replied "dat a dog was the goodest sorter evidence, kase lie wasn't prejudice in I he case." I thought blood hounds would prevent, certain crimes. The effort to sell the state 1 farms was deleated. It was shown that if the farms were sold it should require an appropriation from the state to sup port the penitentiary. Much interest is being taken in the outcome of the dispensary f and it is difficult to lorercast i what will be the result. The 1 House is largely against liquors, and the hope of the dispensary !is with the Senate. However, 1 predict that the Legislature will wipe out the dispensary and f enact some local option law. 1 I am going to vote against the E dispensary every clip. The dispensary investigating committee has submitted the testimony taken at Spartanburg, 1 Sumter and Columbia, which I amounts to six hundred pages. \> The Lomax bill requiring cot tton 6eed meal to be labeled with the analysis ol the contents pass /ed this body. I The "cotton future bucket shop bill" passed the House almost solidly. I think the bucket shop is a good thing to kill in connection with the dispensary.
