The union Thanksgiving serv
ices held in the Presbyterian
church Thursday morning wore
well attended. An unusually
fine sermon, appropriate to the
occasion, was preached by the
Methodist pastor, the Rev. R.
E. Turnipseed It ha9 been pro
nounced by many who heard it
as one of the ablest sermons de
livered in thi9 community in
several years.

night before of Dr. Hall, of
Heath Spiings :
Dr. Price Hall, of Heath
Springs, S.C., was married to
Miss Daisy Sandifer, at the
home of Mrs. T. T. Sandifer,
near Sandifer, last night at 8.30
o'clock. Iiev. George Cook performed
the ceremony. The
bride is a (laughter of the late
Dr. T. T. Sandifer. She is a
charming young woman. Dr.

physician.

'Squire Bailes Found Guilty
in Two Cases.

Two cases against 'Sauire W.
O. Bailes, of Pineville, whose
work as a marriage artist has
brought him notriety in two
States, were tried in court here
this week, the defendant being
found guilty on both charges.
In the case against him for living
with a woman without submitting
to the binding ties of a
marriage ceremony he was fined
$8. The other case was for
shooting his cousin some
months ago, the fine in this case
being $90.
