Retirement benefits better
“Clinton Mills has made several im
provements in itsRetirementPlan,” reports
John Wallace, who co-ordinates the retire
ment program.
As a result of the Tax Reform Act of
1986, the Company is now able to count
earnings and service after the age 65 to
figure the amount of retirement benefits.
Wallace noted that more and more
employees are working beyond age 65. For
those working after the age 70, the retire
ment benefit will begin on April 1 follow
ing the year the employee reaches age 701/
2. The retirement benefit at actual retire
ment will be adjusted.
Another improvement in the plan is a
provision whereby, beginning January 1,
1989, employees with at least five years of
service will be fully vested in the plan. By
being vested, an employee is entitled to a
retirementbenefit if he/she should leave the
company before retirement age.
