With him are his Dixon Sign With Virnir .? was l John Dixon, the 6-9 son of Clinton Mills Vice President of Engineering and Subsidiary Operations and Mrs. C. Bailey Dixon, has signed a basketball grant-inaid to attend Virginia Tech (VPI) in Blacksburg, Va. Dixon was recently signed to the basketball scholarship by VPI Coach Charles Moir, who said, "We think John has excellent potential to be a good major college player. He is a super athlete, individual, and an excellent student. He should fit into our program nicely. "Hivnii Vioa on/uJ *-l? ><w*? t*(*o gwu optcu aiiu ijUiCMlCbS for a big man. He's competitive. With some hard work, we think he will develop into an excellent player. We don't think he's realized his potential yet." Dixon is the fifth recruit signed this season by VPI. The tallest among the new recruits is 6-11 Steve Ratliff from Greensboro, N.C. Coach Moir said, "We lost three front line players from last season, so we're glad to get some good big men among our Jason Namei Sales Corp.' Ronald E. John lettered in basketball three years at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va. In his senior season, Dixon averaged 17 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots per game as he led Episcopal to a 13-4 record. He was named AllConference and was selected to play in the Capital Classic All Star Game. Dixon selected Virginia Tech after being contacted by 87 major colleges and universities. He said, "I picked VPI because it has a good engineering program, a good basketball program, a beautiful campus, and I admire Coach Moir.
