"I was looking for a good
job because I had left my job
as a sheet metal worker at a
local mobile home manufacturing
plant."
"I've found everybody is
fair to me and I have no
complaints about my job."

"Everybody's honest with
me and we all work together
and get along fine," he
added.

Gilstrap, a spinning lubricator,
came to Lydia following
discharge from the Army.
"For a while I farmed and
later worked in Renfrew
Bleachery in Greenville," he
added.

Easley," continued Gilstrap,"
but my wife's people
moved to Clinton, so I
decided to do the same
thing. The move proved to
be a good one, and I'm glad
I can say I've been at the
same job for 25 years."

Mason Street in Clinton.
The Street, he says, was
named for his grandparents.
During his hours off the
job, he's an avid fisherman both
in ponds and Lake
Greenwood.

Myrtie Alewine was employed
twenty five years ago
as a roving operator in the
Lydia Card Room.
A few years later, she was
transferred to the Cloth
Room where she is presently
employed.
Myrtie, like over 400 of
her fellow active and retired
employees, has completed a
quarter century of continuous
service to the company.
When she's not at her job,

A resident of 110 Locust
Street, she attends Bellview
Baptist Church.
EDNA HEATON
Edna Heaton
Retires
Edna Heaton retired from
Plant No. 1 Spinning July
30. 1977. She had been with
the company since March 28.
