NO. 6 Published B United Fund Camp; At Clint Clinton Mills employees will again participate in the Greater Clinton United Fund Drive this year. This is the only Company wide solicitation held in the plants. The drive in the plants will begin September 15, and continue for one week, or until everyone has had an opportunity to make his contribution. Mack Parsons of the Industrial Relations Department will serve as Clinton Mills United Fund Chairman again this year. Departmental shift solicitors will be selected early next month and brief orientations on making the solicitations will be held on the shift prior to beginning the United Fund Drive. Every Clinton Mills employee will be contacted and asked to give generously to this drive. By sup tuning me uniiea * una, each employee will play a vital role in supporting the essential health, character-building and family service organizations which make up the United Fund program. Clinton employees have always responded well to the United Fund Program in the past. They have played an important role in making the previous drives a success. J. R. Swetenburg, Lydia Plant Manager, has been named Chairman of the 1971 Greater Clinton United Fund Campaign. Dick, who is active in the Presbyterian Church, Junior Achievement, and the Kiwanis Club, has announced a goal of $55,650 for this year's Greater Clinton Drive. J. B. Named Chairman of Manufacturing Section Mack Parsons has been named Chairman of the Textile and Manufacturing Section of the 1 !>7 1 South Carolina Occupational Safety Conference. The group will meet October 7 with industry representatives throughout the state. William M. Lybrand of the South Carolina Department of Labor will address those attending the Textile and Manufacturing Section. Lybrand will discuss new legislation as it pertains to the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Knurrs Named To Advisory (Committee Carl R. Rogers. Bailey Plant Manager. has been named to the advisory committee in Fiber Management at Piedmont Technical Education Cpnter Greenwood. Representing Clinton Mills will be Carl R. Rogers, Bailey Plant manager; Ted Davenport. Plant No. 2 Spinning overseer; and Sam S. Williams, Plant No. 1 manager. Davenport and Williams have served previously as advisors to the Clintex company, wmcn is sponsored and counselled by Clinton Mills. Clinton Mills has demonstrated its interest in youth and their knowledge of the free enterprise system by its continuing support of the JA program. Cro nw A ss u m cs Com mand Hank Cronic. Clinton Mills Training Director, has been named Commander of the Copeland - Davidson American Legion Post No. 56. Cronic is a member of the Lions Club and St. Boniface Catholic Church. He serves his church as a Sunday School teacher and is on the Board of Directors of the Lions Club. A retired army Lt. Colonel, Hank served as a navi- ^ gator in Europe with the Air Corps during World War II. He also served ^B^SSKV ma tuuniry during the Korean War. Hank, who has v been with Clinton Mills since 1969, is active in many phases of Clinton civic and religious activities. He, his wife, and daughter Daria, live on Cedar Street. Daria was Vice President of Sales for Clintex Junior Achievement Company last year.
