Bailey Sc Derry Julian Bundrick and Martha Elizabeth Hiers have been named Mercer Silas Bailey Memorial Scholarship Recipients for 1969. The scholarship grants are valued at $4,000 each. Bundrick is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bundrick. He is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Luther League. Hiers is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hiers. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sentinel associate editor, and Mrs. Land To Retire Mrs. Eva B. Land. Clinton Mills Communities Ae tivities Director, will retire Tune 1st. Mrs. Land joined Clinton Mills March 1, 1950. Camp Fire was one of the first organizations that she organized in this area. Since then she has been a member of the board of directors of the Clinton council of Camp Fire In addition to her work with this group, she has served on the Board of Directors of the Community ^once^Associatior^o^ix ty Fabrics -LytHa-Bailay MAY, 1969 Hiers iholars Named Tri-Hi-Y. Both Bundrick and Hiers are Clinton High Seniors. Since inception of this program on August 10, 1956. 24 four year scholarships have been awarded. The Bailey Foundation also announced that interest free loans would be granted to Jack Campbell, Virginia Crocker, Hilda L e J u n e Dunaway, Judy Fallaw, Virginia Gault, Sherry Lashley, and James Richey. The loans have a current value of $3,400 each. years. Mrs. Land organized night schools for Clinton Mills employees as well as supervising craft, sewing, and first aid classes. She is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and director of the adult, youth, and handbell choirs. Mrs. Land attended Converse College, majoring in music. She graduated from Sherwood Music School in Chicago. In her retirement, she will continue to teach piano and reside in the Clinton Mills Community Building. She will serve as hostess in the building.
