H f! ^ n p 2 c n n ( Ccn Be If a person does not leave a will providing lor disposal of an estate, under South Carolina law the state determines the heirs and the share that goes to each. This fact is brought to our attention by Dr. CI. H. Aull in "The Carolina Economist" which he edits for the South Carolina National Hank. "!t goes without saying," Dr. Aull comments, "that in most cases the individual has a far better idea than the government of who should have what of the property he has accumulated. "An oven more compelling reason for making a will is 1 hiit, without it, there is a good chance that the estate may be so broken up and disorganized as to make it unproductive over a period of many years. Under prosr J ^ Some Coarse . . . Some Fine . A rooming house landlord received a phone call from the mother of a college freshman. "Please keep an eye on Albert for me," begged the mother. "See that he gets plenty of sleep and doesn't drink or run around too much. "Yuu sco," she added in an apprehensive tone, "this is the first lime he's been away from home ? except for two years in the Marines." * * * Wife: "I was a fool when I married you." Husband: "I guess you were?but at the time I was so infatuated I didn't notice it." * * * The main trouble with timewasters is that a good deal of the time they waste does not belong to them. MARCH, 1966 LOANS AVAILABLE Interest-free loans are available to applicants meeting the same requirements as the Scholarship recipients. Clinton Mills families with a high school son or daughter planning to enter college this fall may obtain full information on the educational assistance opportunities by contacting Claude Crocker. *d Estate Costly ent conditions, in particular, hardly anyone can aliord the luxury 01 an unplanned estate. Dr. Aull then quotes from an unknown author the following: "A will is a wish, sealed words, "A will is your last word, unspoken yet irrevokable. "A will is your philosophy, made public forever. "A will is your living faith, echoing through the years. "A will is your absolute ballot, a vote for things eternal. "A will is your legal resurrection, you being dead, yet speak." To this Dr. Aull adds: "Truly, as the saying goes, 'Where there's a WILL. There's a WAY . . . Your way!'" It's sound advice. . . Some with a Different Twist "The man who occupied this room," said the landlady, "was an inventor. He invented an explosive." "1 suppose those spots on the wall are the explosive," said the roomer. "No," said the landlady. 'IMw.w o-,. ||... ; .~" ? I iv y U1C IHL' 111 VL'IllUl . * * * Policeman: "Did you see the number of the car that knocked you down, madam?"
