6 Nine Empl Mill Whistlers, Bowl in NINE CLINTON - LYDIA Mills sponsored employee teams are bowling weekly at the new 12-lane Palmetto Bowling Center here in Clinton. Bowling, the number one participating sport among em {jiut tt>i citiwaa uic ilea null, IlclS attracted 50 Clinton - Lvdia employees into four local leagues this winter. Each Monday evening The Lady Lydians and The Cavalettes bowl in the eight team Palmetto Women's League. The Bowling Bobbins and Spare Hands are members of the high scoring Tuesday morning Business and Industrial League. Four employee teams. The Mill Whistlers, Lvdia Lions, Top Rollers and Clothmakers comprise half of the Classic Textile League which meets Ar * -fl SI J 1 oyee Team X Bobbins Are leaders each Tuesday night. The Cotton Boilers roll in the Thursday night Industrial League. Jim Braswell, Lydia Recreational Director, considers bowling to be one of the most important and popular sports in our area. "Its biggest ad vantage and strongest attraction is that the entire family can enjoy it all-year-round . .. everyone can participate." "Through bowling, people make new friends, become better acquainted with their | teammates, and experience I the excitement and thrill of competitive sport. I am sure it is beneficial to the players in many ways."
