JANUARY, 1964 WEAVING NO. 1 2ND SHIFT by Nell Gardner We wish to take this time to thank the Clinton Cotton Mills for our Christmas vacation with pay and also our box of fruit and candy which was greatly appreciated. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Watkins visited Mrs. Alexander's father in Easley recently. Susan Diane L a w s o n , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lawson, celebrated her birthday January 28. Diane was 5 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cook attended a family Christmas dinner at the community building in Greenwood. Mrs. Cook reports all of her brothers and sisters and their families were there which everyone enjoyed very much. Mrs. Ralph Campbell and son. Robert Butler says he hopes to move into his new home some time this month. Robert says he is doing the painting himself which is really hard. Mr. and Mrs. Joe McCall and Debbie had a very busy Christmas day. They spent Christmas morning with Mrs. McCall's parents a n d that afternoon with Joe's parents. It seems everyone had a nice Christmas but a very quiet one. Everyone seems to have stayed pretty much at home so we will be back next 11IIII1 III. WEAVING NO. 3 1ST SHIFT by Emily & Grace Hi Folks, We weren't lazy last month, we were just a little slow getting our news in and so . . . we'll let you read last month's news first which you'd have read last month if we'd gotten it in on time. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Huev * n Linda Faye Hardman, 14 months, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fern Hardman. visited Charleston recently on a sightseeing tour. Mr. and Mrs. Fern Hardman went to Myrtle Beach recently to accompany their son, Delmar, home for a few days. Delmar is stationed at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Huey and Charles attended the Beauty Pageant at Anderson College Friday, December 13. Their main attraction was Miss Glenda Power, who was competing for the title of "Miss Anderson College." Mr. and Mrs. Dick Harrill attended the Belks' Christmas party at Mary Musgrove Hotel. Dick says they really had a wonderful time. Mrs. Lewis Butler, Jr. was a surgical patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital at the time of this writing. We all wish for her a speedy recovery. Boys, if you love speed and have an impulse to step on the gas when you're under the steering wheel, don't try flying on the highway, take to the air as three of our coworkers here in Weaving No. 3 are doing. Neuffer Creswell has already attained his student pilot license and is eligible for his private license. Melvin Barbee is trying for his student pilot license bv middle of January and hopes to have his private license by June. He says he has about got his wife interested in flying too. Larry Cauble is taking instructions in flying and hopes to solo before you read this. Good luck boys but remember that no matter how high you fly you have to come down again, so learn to make the descending gracefully. We know one guy in here that is going to have to start getting up early and practice target shooting if he keeps up with his two sons and his wife. Both the boys shot a deer during hunting season and then his wife won the turkey shoot December 7. Guess The Rudolph Barker's almost had a tragedy the night of December 3. Their oil heater exploded and did a lot of smoke damage but we're Donald R. Melton celebrated his first birthday January 7. He is ?i? 1_- -- me- yiauubun oi mr. ana Mrs. James Coker, Clinton Mills. THE CLOTHMAKER glad it was no worse and that the house didn't catch fire. Buddy Robertson completed 6 months' training with the National Guard December 20 at Fort Bliss, Texas, so he and his wife will be home for Christmas, and I know they and their families are happy about it. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Barker and family were supper guests of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Putnam, in Woodrufi December 4. Harry Lanford and son Steve, and Grady Edge attended the Shrine Bowl game in Charlotte December 7. Dot. is that why Harry didn't object to taking you shopping in Greenville the day before? Indiana where he is on an assignment at Purdue University for approximately six weeks. R. C. works for the Civil Aeronautics Board in Washington, D. C.
