Robert and Roger Patterson celebrated birthdays January 26 and 27. Michelle Malpass celebrated a birthday January 20. Faye Bailey celebrated her birthday January 19. Anna Mclnvaille's father remains sick. Martha Mott is out sick. Hope she will soon be well. We are glad to have Kat Hampton back with us. Mrs. Roger Patterson will celebrate her birthday February 3. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Boozer had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. James Hollingsworth last Sunday. Victoria Culbertson celebrated a birthday January 16. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Sumeral and sons visited her sister. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mclnvaille, in Charlotte. Mrs. Grace Nelson and son. Buddy, and Mr. and Mrs. John Edmonds attended the all night singing in Greenville Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. James Smith and family have moved back to the Lvdia Village. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corlev visited in Greenwood recently. Mr. and Mrs. Dock Holder and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Holder during Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Johnson and family visited in Spartanburg recently. Campbell and his family in the death of his brother. The Charlie E. Birchmores visited in Columbia and West Columbia Saturday before Christmas. Those visited were Mrs. Lula Birchmore and Mrs. Henry Griffin. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller of Batesburg the following Wednesday. Brownlee WEAVING No. 3 ard Shitt By Houston Ellis Charles Myers has returned to work after being a surgical patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Myers spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Hovt Payne in Kershaw recently. Mr. Payne is Mrs. Mver's brother. They also visited other relatives while there. Charles celebrated a birthday January 7. Mrs. Myers celebrated her birthday on January 14. so they split the difference and had a birthdav dinner on January 6. SPINNING & SPOOLING 1st Shift By Mozelle Nelson Mrs. Stella McLendon is visiting her daughter and family, Mrs. Coy O'Shields of Ft. Belvoir Virginia. Mrs. McLendon retired the first of the vear. She had been work ing for 25 years. Friends of A. E. Alexander was sorry to hear of the passing of his wife. Mrs. Florence Alexander. Friends of Rav Cauble were sorry to hear of his passing away recently. Little Sherry Griffin of Columbia spent Christmas with her aunt, Mrs. Connie Davis. Pete Godfrey, son of Mrs. Narvis Godfrey, joined the Navy recently. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cook and Robert spent Christmas in North Carolina with Mr. Cook's sister. Mrs. Garland Rogers. We wish for her a speedy recovery. Mrs. Ada Cook visited her son and his family, Dr. and Mrs. Donald Cook, during the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nelson and daughter visited his father and mother on Sun day. Mr. Nelson is in the Air Force and has just completed a tour of duty in England. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nelson. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the management for the nice Christmas gift baskets given to us for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Foy and little son of Halifax. Virginia visited Mr. and Mrs Bobby Bennett during the holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. Stokes Martin had as their guests for the week end. H Mr Mrs. Addie Coleman retired January 7th after more than 44 years continuous service in the Spinning Room at Lydia. Addie. a charter member of the Old Timers Club, came to Lydia as a young girl in December. 1918. She is well known and highly respected throughout the Community, where she has resided since girlhood. We wish for Addie many years of happy and healthy retirement. past week end, Mrs. Crawford's mother, Mrs. James Dover, her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dover, and sister.
