JANUARY, 1962 WEAVING NO. 1 1ST SHIFT By Alta Riser Happy New Year to all! We wish to express our thanks to our employer for the very nice Christmas basket-of goodies and the vaca?tion pay. We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and have a prosperous New Year. Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Barker and Carroll spent Christmas in Charleston with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spurlock and family. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neal visited Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Reed in Salem during the holidays. Dewey Lawrence's daughter. Margaret, started work recently as a spinner trainee. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Terry and daughters visited Mrs. Terry's mother, Mrs. D. J. Jackson, in Columbia Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. Wardlaw Lancaster spent the holidays in Winston Salem. N. C. with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Sanders. Thclma Suttles is centainly in the air these days. She has become the grandmother of twin girls, born to her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Suttles, of Durham, N. C. December 31. Windsor, Clinton Mills. wo enjoyed so much. < Hope everyone has a happy i New Year. j It seems most of the folks in our department stayed home during the holidays and as Robert Butler says, just ate and relaxed. He didn't say how many pounds he had gained. He said he didn't get any further than Laurens. He went up there looking for Santa Clans, didn't sav if bo found him or not. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander had the pleasure of ^ meeting their daughter and son-in-law, Lt. David Smart * after a stay in Puerto Rico where Mr. Smart was stationed. They met Mrs. Smart in Greenville Friday, December 29th, and Mr. Smart in Charleston on Sunday, December 31. After a few days stay in ' the states Mr. Smart will report to Hawaii. We are glad to have Tom my Iusti working on the 3rc shift with us now. Debbie Ginn, daughter o Gladys and Johnny Ginn celebrated her 6th birthday on New Years day. Evelyn Thompson had ; birthday the 14th of January but we don't know whethei she celebrated it or not. I hope that everyone every where enjoyed a very Mern Christmas and A Happy Nev Year. Fowl ler were recent shoppers in Greenville. Gertrude said they really had a lot of fun, ; but oh! the tired feet coming I home. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Leopard, i Mrs. Dora Leopard and Mr. L and Mrs. Truman Leopard attended the funeral of Mrs. Dora Leonard's sister, Mrs. Vinnie King, in Greenville January 3. Charles Huev, Terry Camnbell, Junior Lambert and Ervin Chafin are to renort for a tour of duty with Uncle Sam during the month of January. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hughes were visitors of Mrs. A. H. Fernandina Beach, Florida. snpriF ^ These handsome young musicians are Mike and Larry Owens. Mike is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Owens, Larry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Owens. Both are grandsons of Mr. and Mrs. David Owens. These young fellows must have entertained their parents with Christmas carols, but from the expression on Larry's face Mike must have hit a sour note. Jackie Hughey. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Hughey. celebrated her 8th birthday January 23. All Dixie Ann Simmons wanted for Christmas was her two front teeth. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gholdie Simmons.
