4 Lydia Campfire Girls and Blue B BOARDING BUS FOR The Blue Bird and Camp Fire club members of the Lewa District left Clinton, 8 A. M.. July 13, by bus for Camp Buck Horn at Paris Mountain near Greenville, and returned July 18. Miss Nellie Osborne was high in her praise of the following counselors who accompanied the group and so graciously gave of their time and effort to make the week at Camp a success: Mrs. H. R. Templeton, Mrs. Frank Birchmore, Mrs. Bo Brown. Life guards were Mr. Gary O'Shields and Mr. Roger Whitmire. Miss Nellie Osborne. Camp Director, was assisted by Misses Shirley Dunnawav and Mary Cunningham. Upon arrival at camp and assignments to cabins, a picnic lunch was enjoyed in the recreational hall. Mr. Harold Casey and sons from Charleston visited Mr. and Mrs. Ovid Meade. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rochester and children spent some of their vacation in Ga. Mrs. Clara Clopton is visiting her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Woodward. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Littlefield of Rock Hill were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ovid Meade. Mrs. Essie Reynolds was a visitor in Georgia. Mrs. Shirley Parker is spending a few weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hompr fasov Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Loll and family visited in Columbia recently. Daily devotions were held during the evenings before retirement. Frequent rains interrupted the swimming each day, but entertainment was provided and a piano was rented from Greenville. A highlight of the week of camping was enjoyed by the campers and visitors on Thursday evening. Each girl who had completed the rank of TRAIL SEEKER was honored in a Ceremonial in which she received her TRAIL SEEKER CHARM and beads denoting her accomplishments. Healthy appetites of the hungry campers were appeased with the abundant lood. A memorable and beneficial week of camp will linger in the hearts of the young girls of this community. Everyone reports a very nice vacation and we want to thank the management for making it possible for us to have the vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hicham and son, Edd. spent several days at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Neuffer Creswell spent a few days at Carolina, N. C. Beach and Neuffer went out fishing while there and they spent several days at Myrtle Beach and then came home and went to Asheville, N. C. and spent the day at the recreation park taking their grandson. Randy Heaton. with them. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kernells spent the day in Augusta, Ga. with Mrs. Florence Ervin. She returned home with them and they spent the day in Easley with Mrs. Ervin's sister, Mrs. Bill Burns. Mrs. Er vin is spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. Kernells, and other relatives here. Mrs. John Hedspeth had a wonderful surprise. Her son Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Hedspeth and children of Kansas spent the week with her.
