Linda, Jimmy and Kay McMillan spent most of their Christmas holidays in Whitmire visiting their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. James McMillan and children visited Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Nelson in Greenville last week end. Mr. and Mrs. Tray Shealy and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Rhoades of Greenwood snont Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. W. R. McGinnis. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Black and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Powell in Greenwood over the holidays. Miss Doris Tucker spent the week in Woodruff visiting friends and relatives. Don Powell and Mr. Louie Black of Richmond. Va., visited the H. L. Blacks during Christmas. Louie remained a few days with his dad. Mrs. Ruth Lancaster said a good way to keep relatives away is to tell them you weren't going to cook. She did and not a one showed up during the holidays. Mr. W. L. Lancaster spent 10 days in the hospital. He is home now and doing fine. Keep the good work up. Vandv Fallow is out sick and in Vet. Hospital in Columbia. Hurry up Vandv and get well, we miss you. Seaman John Lee Simmons, son of Mrs. Estelle Roland, spent the holidays at home. John Lee is stationed at Norfolk. Va., but is scheduled to go to Cuba on his return. J. w. fowler was called to La Grange, Ga., before Christmas due to illness of his father J. P. Fowler, who had suffered a heart attack. Mr. Fowler is recuperating nicely at his home. A2/c Malcolm Fowler spent the holidays at home with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fowler. Miss Lois Lever, who is attending Emanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., spent the Christmas holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Evans Lever. Tech. Sgt. and Mrs. Charles Kelly and Pat spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. A. G Galloway. Captain Charles Galloway has completed a 17 week training period in missiles in Oklahoma and will be stationed at Fort Bragg. N. C. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hughes were called to Spartanburg Dec. 18th due to the death of Mrs. Terry's and Mr. Hughes' aunt Mrs. Essie Tennyson. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Terrv, Sr. were supper guests Christmas Eve of their son and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Terry and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oxner of Aiken were recent guests of Mr. Oxner's parents Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxner. Rev. and Mrs. James Slaughter and son visited Mr. and Mrs. Buford Hedden in Columbia Christmas Day. Mr. James Harris, daughters and son-in-law visited Mrs. Harris who is a patient in the Tubercular Hospital in Columbia We arp \-prv nlnri to report that Mrs. Harris' condition is improved a great deal. Jr and the Simmons visited their sister and brother-in-law. DC3 and Mrs. Tan Windsor in Norfolk. Va. Cole. Jr. reported back to Fort Riley, but from there he will go to Germany for three years. R. C. Wilkie who is attending S. C. University in Columbia spent Christmas holidays at home. While here he accompanied his mother. Mrs. Missouri Wilkie. Jerry and Melane Snelgrove on a visit to Mrs. Wilkie's mother. Mrs. J. F. Anderson in Gainesville. Ga. Missouri Wilkie and Ola Meadows surely must have been good girls last vear. OK. if it weren't Santa Claus. who else would have given them all the new dresses they've been wearing to work since Christmas? Mrs. Dora Leopard spent Monday before Christmas in Greenwood shopping and on Christmas Eve she had all her children and their families. except one. for supper. She said the rest of the holidavs she spent just resting. Dianne Lydia underwent a tonsilectomv at Hays Hospital Dec. 19. Glad to report she was able to go back to school after the holidays. Mrs. Sam Owens was a Medical patient a few davs at Blaloek Clinic after Christmas. Sure hope everything is OK now. Cleo.
